The family-friendly resorts in Florida and California have confirmed that ticket pricing and other park services will soon cost a little extra. One-park passes, Park Hopper tickets, concessions, and even the option to add-on Genie+ ride reservation services have all seen price increases this month, as initially reported by Deadline. Single-park tickets for Disneyland will now range from $115 to $179 (originally $104-$164), depending on the tier. In comparison, Park-Hopper passes (which allow guests same-day entry into Disneyland and California Adventure) have increased to between $179 and $244 (originally $164-$224), depending on the ticket tier. That said, Disneyland did announce it would be offering a new ticket option, Tier 0, that is said to cost $104 for a single-park ticket and $169 for Park-Hoppers. However, there are significant blackout dates guests will need to book around. The cost of multi-day tickets also increased between 9.21 percent and 11.76 percent per the outlet. Disney’s add-on Genie+ service (which allows guests access to the Lightning Line, a ride reservation service) will also reportedly go up in price at each park. At Disneyland, the price of Genie+ is said to increase from $20 to $25 per day. While not raising ticket prices, Walt Disney World is upending its Genie+ pricing system. Instead of a flat fee, prices for Genie+ and Lightning Lane will vary by day, and the cost of some individual Lightning Lane Passes (for rides excluded from Genie+) will also increase depending on the ride’s popularity. And let’s just say even the most dedicated of Disney park guests weren’t happy about being expected to foot all these extra costs without good reason. As the original report pointed out, Disney’s revenue surged over 70 percent since 2021 due to the theme park’s previous cost hikes–and that number is only expected to increase after the latest news. “Please tell me Disney is increasing wages if they’re increasing food/bev/genie+ prices,” one Twitter user begged. Someone else commented about the constant price increases while wages stay stagnant, writing, “Disney raising prices while my measly paycheck stays the same.” Another pretty blunt response read: “Breaking News!!! The Walt Disney Company, a major conglomerate, raises their prices to make the most money possible. In other news, it has been proven that water is still indeed wet.” That’s not all, as fans of the park, who are clearly fed-up with the regularly rising costs, continue to speak their mind freely online. Of course, even with consistent price hikes, Disney is a beloved and family-friendly place that will undoubtedly continue to attract customers year round! More News:
