Previously, the Good Girls actress revealed she would be working with designer Linda Koopersmith of Beverly Hills Organizer to renovate an old home that was otherwise set to be knocked down–and that she would share the process with her 1.1 million Instagram followers. Just yesterday, the 47-year-old posted a walk-through of a portion of the newly-completed home improvement project on Instagram. An excited Hendricks showed off the stunning new bathroom, including a brand-new retro-style bathtub, intricate tile flooring, and 20th-century-style furnishings in the post shared on Sept. 10. But, to her dismay, some took it too far with their feedback–alleging the actress was “ruining an old home.” “That old laundry shoot [sic] 🤣,” one mocked. “So basically you’re going to ruin this beautiful old home?,” someone else questioned. After a few hours, the rude comments continued to pile up, and Hendricks was compelled to address them. In a follow-up post also made via Instagram, Hendricks expressed shock and disappointment in how some fans reacted to her renovation update. “I have so lovingly been bringing this home back to life after years of neglect and a makeover in the 1980s. I’m a true lover of old homes and their charms and have done everything in my power to keep all the old historical touches,” she wrote in the caption. Hendricks continued: “It breaks my heart to see comments that I’m ruining an old home. This house was going to be sold to a developer to knock down and put multi units on, so I’m so pleased to save an old 1908 craftsman. I found this Stunning @americh.corp #bow bathtub that is beautifully retro and fit in the style of the house. And these stunning @franzviegener faucets and towel rods just sparkle! @beverlyhillsorganizer.” Many fans took to the comments to show their support for the actress and everything she has done. “Looks wonderful!! You’re doing an amazing job, ignore the haters. 💖,” one sweet fan reminded the two renovators. “People are so odd. I think you’re putting such care into this house, you can tell it’s a real passion project. Thanks for sharing all the progress,” someone else applauded.Another fan offered Hendricks a few words of wisdom: “Honey, what you’re doing in your new house is WONDERFUL! Every detail is exquisite and shows your good taste. Don’t listen to comments from people who are very bored and enjoy doing damage. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the house. I LOVE YOU!” Hendricks bought the house two years ago but only started documenting the renovation in July of this year. She previously shared a video on her Instagram and noted that the task has been “stressful” and joked about wanting to start a “support group” for other home renovators as the process can be very “difficult.” Even with all of the unexpected twists of remodeling, it seems to be coming together very nicely–and we can’t wait to see the finishing touches!
